All our cacao and vanilla ingredients are Fairtrade certified by the Fairtrade Foundation. This means that the farmers get a decent price for their produce and their communities get assistance in the form of housing programmes, business training and education. Further, the use of child labour, trafficking and slavery is prohibited under Fairtrade certification.
Almost all our ingredients and products are certified organic. The only one that isn’t is the Xylitol for our sugar free bars, and that is because organic Xylitol does not exist. The Soil Association have the highest organic standards in the world. The certification means that there are less pesticides and agro-chemicals in our ingredients and that farms are managed in a holistic, environmentally friendly way with an acknowledgement of the wider benefits of bees and diverse flora and fauna. All our products are certified Vegan by the Vegan Society. This means we do not use any animal products, including bee products, in our bars, snacks or make your own range. The Vegan Trademark not only guarantees that products and the manufacturing processes are free from animal products, by-products and derivatives; but that they are also free from animal testing and genetically modified organisms (GMOs) that include animal genes.
