Every year in the run up to Christmas we donate to Circus Starr, enabling disadvantaged children in the UK to have a fabulous visit to the circus!
Circus Starr is a touring circus boasting world-class, professional artists from across the globe. It was first founded in 1987 and provides free seats for thousands of disadvantaged, disabled or vulnerable children, whilst helping to raise much needed funds for local charities.
Through its unique network of partner charities and local businesses, Circus Starr provides over £1.3 million worth of free tickets to children, their families and community groups throughout the UK every year.
Circus Starr is a not-for-profit organisation which runs a 75 venue tour hosted three times a year. A Social Enterprise with children at its heart, Circus Starr operates a unique Donated Ticket Programme that allows thousands of children to attend free shows thanks to the generous support of businesses who, in turn, enjoy the opportunity to ‘give back’ to their communities.
Since Circus Starr was first established 1987, it has given over one million underprivileged children and children with disabilities the chance to run away to the circus and forget their troubles for a day.
We know these trips hold many benefits and have even been life-changing for some. Parents and carers of the children at our shows frequently report:
Reduced sense of fear, isolation and anxiety
Increased confidence, sociability and self-esteem
Greater connectedness to others, a feeling of inclusion
